    Abstract
Craft beer not only presents a growing market but an associated subculture, laying claim to subverting the norm and presenting an unbiased, non-gendered space. There is an increase of females working within the industry but a relatively low number of female brewers (SIBA 2018). Counter to the egalitarian message beer journalism and media promotes reports of sexism throughout the industry. With very little research into gender phenomenon in this field this study sets out to establish if the craft beer revolution is as progressive as it’s message or if a negative gender bias exists towards females is present.
