Preventing violence in young people's intimate relationships - a realist informed review
(2013) Preventing violence in young people's intimate relationships - a realist informed review, no. 78.
A review of existing studies was undertaken to evaluate the evidence on intimate partner violence prevention programmes within school-based settings. The review was informed by a realist approach which focuses on programme mechanisms. A realist informed review was selected to help to reveal why and how particular interventions work. The review's primary aim was to explore the effectiveness of prevention programme components and the secondary aim was to explore whether particular components could be considered for their transferability to a Scottish context. A review of scholarly literature from 6 electronic databases over the past two decades identified 490 articles, 9 of which were selected and subjected to data analysis.
