Logistics and Supply Chain Management: An SME Perspective of Mutually Beneficial Supply Chain Relationships
(2013) Logistics and Supply Chain Management: An SME Perspective of Mutually Beneficial Supply Chain Relationships, no. 125.
The purpose of this study is to investigate supply chain relationships from a small and medium sized enterprise (SME) perspective. Supply chain management literature discusses the importance for organisations to create partnerships and alliances to more effectively manage and accelerate the flow of materials through the supply chain. As well as highlighting the mutual benefits of cost reduction and efficiency for members and added value for the end customer. However this study provides insight into whether all supply chain members receive the same added value suggested by the literature, by specifically looking at power structures between supply chain partners and the consequential difficulties faced by SME's.
