    Abstract
This study's objective is to examine how Rococo aesthetics have influenced contemporary fashion designers, exploring the links between haute couture and the Rococo period of the early 18th Century. The Rococo style influenced many aspects of the arts, including fashion, furniture and architecture of the era. This dissertation puts Rococo into perspective, exploring it's emergence from Baroque, researching the decorative arts to gain an understanding of how the different elements of the Rococo era have inspired contemporary designers. This study's conclusion is that the Rococo era has been a rich source of inspiration for contemporary haute couture designers.
