Introduction (part): Online dating has arguably becoming the most popular method for people seeking new relationships. The past 15 to 20 years have witnessed what Finkel et al. believe to be a radically changed landscape in the world of dating, and is vastly becoming the preferable means of seeking companionship (2012). 23% of online daters in North America said they have met their spouse or long term partner with the use of a dating site, a significant increase from 17% in 2005 (Smith, 2013).
