    Abstract
Introduction (part): The experience of making the short film, Aground, has been an incredible challenge as I set out to push the boundaries of my ability in every possible way. Firstly I wanted to write a film that left a lot open to the interpretation of the viewer but followed an intriguing story and carried a sinister degree of implications about the world surrounding it. It was has also been a growing ambition of mine to learn about the practices of crowdfunding and after a lot of hard work and learning on my feet, I was delighted to successfully raise over one thousand pounds in order to crowd fund this film and this proved crucial in maintaining the technical and aesthetic quality of the film that I desired. This allowed me to hold auditions and pay a semi-professional actor, who I believe brought an impressive performance to the production.
