dc.description.abstract | Performance artist Marina Abramovic has spent four decades creating what she refers to as her Method; a series of techniques and performance processes that she implements into her performances and daily life. This study explores the similarities between Abramovic’s performance artwork processes and selected techniques from the Japanese martial arts Shotokan Karate and Judo through a series of workshops, rehearsals, a final performance outcome and a reflective essay. Development and research from the practical aspects of this study shall be documented onto a DVDROM which shall form part of the submission. | en |
