| dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The purpose of this study was to inform the development of what would be defined as an extended scope practitioner (ESP) within cancer care in the United Kingdom. As a result of COVID-19 we have witnessed the strength and flexibility of our workforce, where multiple professionals were retrained and upskilled to take on tasks traditionally seen as the domain of one profession. Now more than ever the need to extend physiotherapy practice within oncology in order to mitigate the impact COVID-19 has had on cancer screening and routine diagnostic work of patients with cancer, is imperative. However, comparatively to our musculoskeletal and respiratory colleagues, little research about such extended scope practitioner roles within oncology exist. The overall aim of this research was to explore the shared understanding of the meaning, definition, and requirements of the role of extended scope practice within oncology | en |
